The outside came in at a pot planting session held at the Ashburton Public Library last week.

Held as part of a series of local events to mark and support Mental Health Week, the library teamed up with Ashburton District Council’s (ADC) open spaces team and invited those aged between 12 and 17 to bring in a pot and to walk away with a plant in it.

The plants on offer were succulents and advice was given by the gardening team on watering, checking soil and re-potting.

The benefits of indoor plants include their ability to produce oxygen, removal of toxins and purifying the air, as well as enriching health and well-being and fostering happy vibes.
