The district’s oldest resident, Rita Turtill, is 106 today (November 3) and looking many years younger.
With a beaming smile and youthful complexion, the centenarian is in good health, albeit quite deaf.
Rita has gone high tech in recent weeks to help with her deafness and uses an amplifier and headphones when she wants to strike up conversation.
Staff at Cameron Courts rest-home, where she is a resident, continued to spoil and look after her very well, said the birthday girl.
“I’m very well looked after and I love it here,” she said.
Rita’s daughter, Judy Glen, said her mother looked and felt better now than when she reached the century milestone six years ago.
