Council will discuss vaccine passport requirements at its final meeting of the year at 1pm.
Last week the council made the call to allow only those with proof of vaccine to use the gym, stadium, pools and cafe at EA Networks Centre.
Ashburton mayor Neil Brown said council was still working through the implications of the Orange level rules on other council facilities, including the Ashburton Public Library, art gallery and museum, and council building.
He said a report would be tabled and discussed in the public meeting on December 15.
Some other South Island territorial authorities made decisions on vaccine passport use before last Friday’s move to the new rules.
In Christchurch My Vaccine Pass is needed for recreation centres, including indoor pools, libraries, Christchurch Art Gallery and civic offices.
