Toot for Tucker organisers areĀ gearing up for another successful event to boost the coffers of foodbanks in the district.

The annual event, organised by Ashburton County Lions with support of Property Brokers Ashburton, is set to go ahead on November 29.

Drivers, vehicles and runners will be used to collect and sort non perishable household grocery items to help make the event a community success.

Collectors will be out and about between 6pm and 7.30pm tooting to let you know they are in your area. Although people are urged to put their goods at the letterbox from 5pm, to avoid being missed.

The food drive will be on wet, or fine.

If you can spare an hour to help, volunteers are still needed and can meet at the Ashburton Racecourse from 5.30pm for an event briefing.

The collection starts at 6pm.

Collection bags will delivered in the November 18 edition of The Ashburton Courier newspaper.

Donations can also be dropped off to Property Brokers Ashburton on West Street.
