Fun and laughter at Children’s Day

Children galore flocked to the celebrations at the Mid Canterbury Children’s Day event on Sunday at the Plains Museum and Tinwald Domain.

Activities with balls and slides, rides on trains, toys bumper boats, face painting, balloons, bungy jumps, bags of books from Rotary members and a sausage sizzle were just a few of the attractions at the free family event.

It was a maze of colour, sights and sounds that had something for everyone, including Ella Bradley, 11, (pictured) who got a chance to check out the free books on offer from Rotary members.

Ella, a regular to the annual event, says every year there was something new.

And this year did not disappoint with many new groups attending to promote their service to families in the district, as well as the return of regulars.

There was also crafts, give-a-ways and and hundreds of kids took the chance to take a dip at the Tinwald swimming pool, with its free entry.
