Last day for show entries

Embroiderer Lois Burridge, left, has a number of home industries entries for Ashburton A and P Show administrator Lucille Brown.

The Ashburton A&P Show events and competitions will go on…. but a decision on how the show is run – and whether it’s open to the public – will be made by organisers next week.

Ashburton A&P Association administrator Lucille Brown has been receiving a late flurry of show entries today at the Ashburton Showgrounds for the final day of entries.

The association is expecting to run 90 percent of the show’s competition events, even if it was not a full show.

People have been steadily lining up at the showgrounds, emailing or phoning, today for entries across all sections from home industries entries, to wool classes, and equestrian events.

The show, due to be held at the showgrounds on October 29 and 30, usually attracts thousands of people over its two days.
