Mamma Mia rehearsals are in full swing and its only five weeks until the opening night of another Variety Theatre Ashburton production.
The show will mark the 10th anniversary of the Ashburton Trust Event Centre and is set to be a stage spectacle to remember.
Featuring the music of ABBA, the production includes 17 dance routines and a cast of 33.
Six weeks of rehearsals have already been completed with musical director Richard Marrett, and on Sunday show choreographer Madison Tew Keyworth began setting and rehearsing dance routines.
Mamma Mia director Roger Farr said rehearsals would now “ramp up considerably”.
He said the cast had been fantastic to work with and the characters they played were coming through.
“We are very lucky to have an incredibly talented and committed cast, all of which makes my job that little bit easier.
“The singing is outstanding with some amazing harmonies coming through from our cast.”
Mr Farr said early tickets sales had been good and the show was shaping up to be very popular.
“My advice is for people not to delay in purchasing tickets, or they might miss out.”
There will be 10 performances of Mamma Mia between May 18-26. Tickets are available from the Event Centre or ticketdirect.co.nz.Sports News30 Winter Outfit Ideas to Kill It in 2020 – Fashion Inspiration and Discovery
