Monster garage sale draws crowds

Bargain hunters on the search during the Ashburton Pakeke Lions monster charity garage sale.

Hundreds of people turned out to snap up a bargain at last weekend’s Ashburton Pakeke Lions Charitable Trust’s monster charity garage sale.

The two day sale, at the former RX Plastics building on West Street, raised around $13,500.

Among the bargain hunters were Fiona Giles and daughter Clodagh, 8, who got a good look around the sale items and picked up some Christmas decorations and a headboard.

There were plenty of other bargains on offer including dolls, cakes, crafts, collectables, china, furniture, toys, bikes, gardenware and workshop tools.

Pakeke Lions helper Colin Paterson, of Kaka Point, was visiting family in Ashburton and was able to help out with bargain hunters during the two day sale.
