Mid Canterbury Softball Association celebrated its 40th year over the weekend with current and former players getting together for a catch up and games.
Dozens of former players enjoyed social events and games at the Hampstead Rugby Club grounds.
Scrapbooks and photo albums were displayed and a number of players caught up with former sporting adversaries and team mates.
Organising committee member David Waaka said the district’s “softball family” had enjoyed a couple of big days and nights.
The reunion had been well-received, gone to plan and been helped by some great weather.
Around 80 people had been involved in various socials and games, he said.
Mr Waaka was inducted as only the third Mid Canterbury Softball Association life member, alongside Neville and Maureen Trueman, who also attended the weekend celebration.
Softball players who have passed were remembered with a minute’s silence before Sunday’s social game.
