Swimmers in the medals

Bree Middleton was the best of the Jennian Homes Ashburton Swim Team swimmers at the recent Canterbury West Coast championships, winning both the 400m and 800m free events for her 13-14 year age group.

She also won the Jubilee trophy for the fastest girl in the Under 14 800m free event.

Fellow club swimmer Cameron Slee won a title in the 50m breaststroke, silver in the 200m breaststroke and bronze in the 100 breaststroke. He recorded personal best times in his races.

Isabelle Wilson claimed bronze in both the 100m breaststroke and 400m individual medley, while Bailey Tait won a bronze in the 50m free and also a qualifying time for the New Zealand age groups.

Leigh Harrison raced well to achieve nearly all personal best times and Andrew Peel took nearly 9 seconds off his 400m individual medley and 5.47 seconds off his 200 individual medley best time.

Jared Scammell, Josh Giles, James Robertson, Blake Farr, Victoria Binnie and Katelyn Hogg all swam well with personal best times.affiliate link traceNike News
