Ashburton Borough School’s fundraising maize maze on the edge of town is open for exploration.

Back for a third year, the maze opened on Monday and is on the property of local farmer Randal Hanrahan alongside the Hakatere Marae on State Highway One, north of Ashburton.

Mr Hanrahan, a Borough School board of trustee member, has designed and planted the walking puzzle himself.

The maze is open for the rest of the school holidays from 10am until 5pm and then over weekends once school starts.

Admission $5 per adult and $3 per child under 15.
