Volunteers are sought to help at the `Farming Families Day at the Races’ being organised by rural advocate Craig Wiggins, Ashburton Trotting Club, the Rural Support Trust and Federated Farmers.
It was to lift the spirits of rural families following the recent challenging climate.
The Ashburton Trotting Club were excited to be able to host this event in support of rural families.
In a release, the club said they would provide food, refreshments, losing tote spot prizes and children’s entertainment.
“We also hope to have some accommodation packages to give away on the day with the focus on a positive day out for farmers.”
The Get off the Farm day will be on at the Ashburton Trotting Club meeting on July 15, between 11.30am and 5.30pm.
Around 10 volunteers are needed to help with registrations as well as food and beverage service. If you would like to volunteer or need more information contact Peter Reveley on 303 9834 or by email at Peter.Reveley@adc.govt.nz
