Members of the Ashburton Aviation Museum are calling for volunteer guides to help out at the busy airport based facility.
Museum spokesman Warren Janett said the museum, which was open seven days a week from 1pm to 3pm, needed volunteers to show people around the collection.
An aviation interest would be helpful but not necessary as full training would be given.
Due to changes in circumstances there were just a handful of current volunteer guides left at the museum with some members currently filling-in until more were available.
“We are at the stage where we are desperately short of volunteer guides at the museum, he said.
Museum members were interested in getting as many volunteers, aged 15 years and over, as possible to cover different times during the week.
“High school, or college aged-kids would be really welcome,” Mr Janett said.
Volunteer guides would receive a free membership to start to run until the end of the financial year, Mr Janett said. Anyone interested can contact Mr Janett via the aviation museum.
