    Presbyterian Support South Canterbury/Family Works Service is a multidisciplinary team of experienced practitioners working together to provide support and effective interventions to tamariki and whanau. Family Start is a home visiting service working alongside whanau to enhance health, education and social outcomes for tamariki in the first five years of life. Family Start Whanau workers are at the heart of the Family Start Programme, working alongside whanau in their own homes.

    Description of position:

    The successful applicant will need:

    • To have a background of working with tamariki and whanau in social services, health, or education sectors
    • Experience and skills in engagement, assessment, and intervention approaches with tamariki and their whanau
    • Have knowledge and understanding of tamariki safety
    • Excellent communication skills that enable building effective, supportive relationships with whanau
    • The ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with referring agencies and local service providers

    Applicants will need to have:

    • A relevant tertiary qualification in social work, health or education sector
    • Applicants in their final year of study towards a relevant qualification will also be considered
    • A current full NZ driver’s licence.
