19 January 1948 – 25 September 2025. With much sadness we share that our beloved, loyal, husband, Dad, father-in-law and Grandad slipped quietly away at Ashburton Hospital after a brief illness. Love always, Lorraine; Chris & Kelly, Mathias and Thor (Hastings); Steph & Sam, Olly and Zoe (Ashburton). Dick was a respected Builder and “Boss”, his family’s Go-To Man for any job, dedicated Coach and Mentor, Champion of Common Sense, a very proud Dad and Grandad and a loyal Friend. Dick / Grandad / Dickles, the love of your family and friends goes with you. We will miss you and your sensible practical ways, your love and generosity, and all your skills, so much. Honouring Dick’s wishes, there will be no service. He wanted an informal gathering to celebrate his life, share stories and have a laugh and a drink. This will be held on Thursday 16 October, from 1.30pm – 3.30pm, at the Allenton Rugby Clubrooms, Melrose Rd, Ashburton.
