Three new scholarships have been made available for next year through Advance Ashburton Community Foundation’s annual scholarships funding.

The EA Networks Scholarship, The Longfield Scholarship and the Ashburton Vintage Car Club Scholarship sit alongside a range of other 2026 options including those for tertiary, personal development and the trades.

All applications close October 31.

An EA Networks Scholarship for students in their second or subsequent years of study in electrical engineering, information technology, systems management, human resources, accounting, communications, or safety management.

The Longfield Scholarship is for any type of tertiary study, for students in their second or subsequent years of study.

The Ashburton Vintage Car Club Scholarship is being offered to those undertaking any type of automotive apprenticeship, in their second or subsequent years of apprenticeship.

Foundation executive officer Carolyn Clough said the foundation received many applications for its scholarships, so to have the new ones was ‘‘wonderful’’.

EA Networks had been offering a scholarship for a number of years but had low number of applications in recent years so handed it over to the foundation to administer.

‘‘Having the car club scholarship means we now have a scholarship specific to automotive industry,’’ Clough said.

The foundation had presented scholarships to those studying in automotive field in previous years, but they have come from more general scholarships.
