World Autism Awareness Day will be celebrated in Ashburton today with a gathering at Argyle Park.
People with autism, and parents/caregivers and friends of those with autism will meet at the park on Middle Rd, Ashburton from 5pm.
People are encouraged to wear something blue, bring a balloon, and a plate of food to share.
The day is celebrated internationally on April 2 as a chance to share stories and increase understanding and acceptance of people with autism.
